AISI W1 is a high-carbon tool Steel that meets the specifications of the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI). W1 steel has high hardness, strength and wear resistance, making it suitable for a variety of tool manufacturing and processing applications such as cutting tools, stamping dies and cold stamping dies.
The chemical composition of AISI W1 steel mainly includes carbon (C), manganese (Mn) and silicon (Si). Its carbon content is between 0.60% and 1.20%, its manganese content is between 0.30% and 0.60%, and its silicon content is between 0.10% and 0.35%. In addition, W1 steel also contains traces of phosphorus (P) and sulfur (S). This specific chemical formulation gives W1 steel excellent hardness and machinability.
AISI W1 steel has good heat treatment properties, and its hardness and toughness can be adjusted by heat treatment processes such as normalizing and tempering. After proper heat treatment, W1 steel can achieve high hardness and excellent machinability, while maintaining a certain toughness and fracture resistance.
